The Degray Effect - Why not? (CD)

Following the unexpectedly huge success of their debut album at the beginning of the year, THE DEGRAY EFFECT now presents its eagerly awaited second release. The new album WHY NOT? clearly positions itself between the cornerstones of gothic, punk, and alternative.
It builds seamlessly on its predecessor, yet remains strikingly independent. The band once again succeeds in breaking through the clichés of gothic rock - a parallel, incidentally, to gothic rock icons such as Marquee Moon. No wonder: Nigel Degray was the frontman of this legendary 80s band.
Once again, the songs deal with themes of despair, melancholy, and love: the authentically tragic story of a blind girl, recurring nightmares, and the impending loss of beauty. The variety of tracks is successful and diverse, carried by a highly recognizable production, once again recorded and produced by Jonathan Read.
The London-based producer comes from the scene of 80s bands such as Rose Of Avalanche and My Bloody Valentine and gives THE DEGRAY EFFECT its characteristic sound.
The previously announced single has not yet been released due to disagreement between the band and the producer about the right title; the release date has been postponed accordingly.
