The repertoire of the JOBIM sessions is remarkable: 14 popular and well-known songs by the Brazilian composer Tom Jobim - however not interpreted in the usual bossa nova sound, but creatively and fearlessly placed in new musical contexts, completely rearranged, partly alienated and in time signature, groove , Melody and harmony sequence abstracted. “We wanted to respectfully deconstruct Jobim's music and rearrange it in a surprising way, technically and artistically at a high level, but still audible to a wide audience,” says Andreas Schulz. The spectrum ranges from the economical 'Favela' with Steelstring, Dobro and Udu to the densely arranged and with over 8 minutes playing time, probably the most ambitious song 'Demais'. Even songs like the world-famous 'Girl from Ipanema' experience an exciting reinterpretation, in which you only recognize the original title after almost 2 minutes of playing time. Other notable tracks are 'Agua De Beber' as a funk shuffle, 'Once I Loved' in the Americana sound, 'Chega De Saudade' with echoes of Tango Nuevo or 'How Insensitive' with drum loops in a chill-out atmosphere.
