"All of us are needed and more and more…"
With MELON, the multi-instrumentalist Bernhard Bauch is now presenting his solo debut album.
A new push of the boundaries of indie pop. The instruments are kept very minimal. The first pieces were created with only harmonium and drums. Added to this are bass guitars, synthesizers and finally a voice. Squeaky clinking synths instead of catchy refrains. Funny, critical and ambiguous texts invite you into soft, shimmering worlds of sound.
Strong influences of the 80s can be recognized in the sound as well as in the rhythm - but the album does not contain any electronics.
In addition, the guest appearance of Anton Huth on saxophone complements two pieces.
Some text templates were penned by Gernot Untergruber, an artificial (non)intelligence - a machine, a digital personality - that produces texts independently and automatically.
Post-futuristic sounds and moods, timelessly decaying and driving.
all this is MELON.
