The album is more or less the continuation of the album CELLOSOPHY from 2012. It's about exploring whether it's possible to create a whole album of atmospheric, almost film score-like pieces with a classic violoncello as the focal point, without losing an arc of suspense; to create an album in the so-called New Classic style, without falling into the arbitrariness and clichés that often occur in this genre.
Christoph Schenker played all the cellos, pianos and basses himself, while DOMINIQUE GAGA EHLERT contributed the drums.
The song VÖGLEIN, the only song, forms an island. The text was written by FRANZISKA HUDL to the music by Christoph Schenker, she also sings it herself. LISELOTTE SCHENKER can be heard here at the piano.
The renowned music producer MICHAEL VAJNA, who is best known as the musical head of his band MALKY, could be won for the production of the album.
Vajna has woven a sound robe for each of the Moviestar pieces, often using the medium of slight to crass alienation of the cello's natural tone and also that of the other instruments. Sometimes he even intervened in Schenker's compositions, there was a lively exchange between the two and great mutual inspiration.
