When the deep, shimmering black voice of the white blues singer Linda Schmelzer sounds, it leaves profound traces. Her power blues voice, sometimes loudly roaring or softly insinuating, sometimes cheerfully or sadly lamenting, gets under your skin. Bubbling deep from her soul, she touches and moves her listeners.
The organizer of the legendary Nuremberg blues festival "Blues will eat" once described her aptly: "Linda Schmelzer's voice must also trigger pleasant feelings when she orders someone to take out the garbage."
For 20 years she interpreted the powerful repertoire of Jimi Hendrix on many stages in Germany and for just as long she toured with her omni blues band until the death of her longtime blues guitarist Mike Viertel suddenly tore her out of the live game.
The melancholy and the passion for the blues are despite or because of the pandemic
remained. The time was ripe for their large community of fans to finally get a record
present, which reflects the spectrum of their interpretations of blues and rock.
Together with numerous, excellent musicians, the very varied album "PEARLS" was created under live conditions in the studio. It contains exciting versions of famous song pearls by Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin or Led Zeppelin, among others, which Linda Schmelzer lets shine in new splendor.
