Color is the long-awaited follow-up album to the predecessor Belonging, which the East Westphalians released four years ago. Time that was used to work extensively on new sounds, time that was used to reflect.
We live in “modern times”, which seem to be the age of populism, marked by fears, social insecurity, hatred, discrimination and narcissism. We live in a world that seems to be increasingly divided into black and white, monotonous, colorless
A young generation finds itself between hope and doubt, between rebellion and fear; a generation striving for self-expression and self-fulfilment, watching this society slowly being driven to the brink of insanity.
Well, actually Summery Mind don't see themselves as a political band and they certainly don't want to point the finger at anyone and assign blame. That happens often enough already. The band is concerned with this album about identity and self-realization, about encouraging a young generation to form their own opinions and thoughts, to go through the world without prejudice, to take responsibility and to draw their view of the world in all its bright colors , instead of falling into black and white thinking.
“Love becomes our language and words our loaded gun!” (futuremakers)
Color will be released as a digipack and download as well as in an exclusive, limited box set, which contains the digipack, an extended booklet, a second CD with 5 instrumentals as well as demo recordings from the songwriting process and unreleased live acoustic recordings, a signed autograph card , a fine art print of a band picture, a foldable rhombohedron as well as stickers and picks.
