Marian Sebastian Lux, German Film Orchestra Babelsberg (Conductor Jörg Iwer) - The Havel (CD)
Born in Bad Freienwalde, Marian Lux works as a film composer and pianist in Berlin. Stations in his life were a visit to the music school in Bad Freienwalde, Brandenburg, the Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach Music High School and studies at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin. Among other things, he wrote the music for various TV series "The Fat One", "The Family Lawyer" (both together with Andreas Bick) as well as the fairy tale adaptations "Little Brother and Sister", "The Clever Farmer's Daughter" and "The Danced Shoes". Easter 2015 ran the 13-part mystery series "Arman's Secret" with Marian's film music on ARD. In 2005 his symphony piece "Dreamwalks" was premiered in the Konzerthaus Berlin under the baton of Sebastian Weigle. Further performances followed in the Graz Opera House, with the Wiesbaden State Orchestra and in Lithuania with the "Junge Philharmonie Brandenburg". In 2011, Marian received the prize donated by the weekly newspaper "DIE ZEIT" as the best répétiteur at the federal chanson/musical competition. In 2012, Marian debuted with his first film music for the mystery thriller "Du hast es promised" by Alex Schmidt and won the prize for the best film music at the Lünen Film Festival. In 2013 he was commissioned to compose the symphonic poem "Die Havel", which premiered in June 2015.
Numerous national and international guest performances have taken conductor Jörg Iwer to Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Paris, Graz, Zurich, Bern, Milan, the State Opera House in Lviv, the Lyric Opera Singapore, Guangzhou and Taipei, among others. Jörg Iwer alone conducted more than a hundred concerts with the Belarusian State Philharmonic Minsk, as well as the Taiwan State Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester de Chambre Ville d'Avray in Paris, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and the Mesa Symphony Orchestra in Phoenix/Arizona. From 2005 to 2007 he was the musical director of the Wörthersee Festival in Klagenfurt. He is present as a conductor and composer on records, CDs, DVDs and videos and has participated in radio recordings by WDR and Bayerischer Rundfunk. Jörg Iwer is one of the few conductors who has also made a name for himself as a composer and arranger. His conducting repertoire includes more than 110 stage works and all important symphonic works of all genres and epochs, in addition to the classics such as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner and Mahler also numerous 20th and 21st century works. He is guest conductor of the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.
The basis of the high popularity of the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg results from its traditional film music orientation and its cross-genre versatility. In addition, with its numerous symphonic concerts, operetta & musical programmes, opera & ballet projects, jazz & crossover productions, tours and television appearances, the DFOB has earned a permanent place in the German cultural and media landscape and functions successfully as Germany's cultural ambassador abroad.
