In recent years, the music world has lost some of its big stars and musical pioneers. David Bowie, Prince and many others are way too early on this list and May 26th, 2022 fits in there for millions of electronic music fans. On this day Andrew Fletcher, founding member of Depeche Mode, embarked on his last journey, aged 60. In particular, fans from all over the world, who have supported the band for decades, seem to have remained in shared grief and shock for months. The legitimate question for many is “how is the band going?” and sharing their condolences with the remaining members Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, Andy's friends and especially his wife Grainne and his children Megan and Joe.
Several international artists have now come together, directed by Daniel Gierke of the act The Brute: for a musical farewell and a thank you to Andrew "Fletch" Fletcher for over 40 years of music history, and recorded a compilation of various covers of Depeche Mode’s songs. The idea is not new. The difference lies in the top-class cast!
Gareth Jones, the producer of three Depeche Mode albums and hits like "People Are People” participates as well as Bernhard Lloyd with his current project Atlantic Popes, known as a member of Alphaville, who wrote in the 80s synth-pop anthems like "Big In Japan” and “Forever Young". Also present is Watershed from South Africa, who rose to global fame with their 2002 smash hit “Indigo Girl”, Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb, Polly Scattergood, the iconic electronic music pioneers from Italy Kirlian Camera, Carlos Peron, co-founder of the Swiss band Yello, Markus Reinhardt, formerly a member of Wolfsheim, Roy Jones, Nico Wieditz of And One, The Brute: themselves and the award-winning UK act Northern Kind.
The entire project has a charitable purpose. 50% of the profit will be donated to a charity for children in UK, and the Children’s Cancer Trust in Germany who officially partners to the project.
The aim was to bring together different artists from different decades, old musical companions of "Fletch" as well as known artists across different genres and promising new bands who were influenced by Depeche Mode's sound. From Rock, Electronic, Alternative, Pop, Crossover to Synthwave, everything is represented. 29 acts from the UK, the US, Germany, France, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, South Africa and Switzerland say “See You” in such a stylish way.
The compilation with the name "6122", the year Andrew Fletcher was born and died, will be released on November 25th, 2022 as a Christmas present for all fans worldwide.

Physics, astronomy, numerology, philosophy, prehistoric mythology and literature - sciences that in one form or another have always run through the albums of the Crüxshadows. After the American electro rockers recently caused real dance floor eruptions with the euphorically celebrated pre-single "Helios" in scene circles, mastermind Rogue and his loyal troupe are now releasing their most well thought-out, most experimental and also most gripping work to date with "Astromythology"!

Marco Pleil, the voice with electric guitar from Rhein-Main. Two years after his debut album "Die Spur des Kalenders" and the subsequent single "Love Greetings!/Jazz is not an option", the second album "Keine Zeit" is released again via Timezone Records. Even standing still is not an option for Pleil! That's why he goes several steps further with "Keine Zeit". While "Die Spur des Kalenders" was a statement in minimalism, Pleil builds (in the truest sense of the word) on loops, beats and, above all, on his old love of incisive bass playing for the twelve new songs. The first single "Depressive Komödianten" combines the most beautiful New Order melancholy with college rock a la REM, "Aus dem Off" could also come from an early The Cure album and the second single "Schön Dich zu sucht" is an electro /Acoustic rocker in compact Hüsker-Dü postpunk songwriting. And before anyone asks: No, it's not a Corona album, neither about nor influenced by! It's the logical step that Pleil has to take. Live and solo, he continues to break the songs down to their skeletal form. But in the context of the album, there are now no more limits! "Keine Zeit" was produced in the band's own "Bear Cave Studio" by the Cologne band "Locas in Love" by Nicolas Epe (including the Peter Muffin Trio, screenshots), Luis Müller-Wallraf (including the Giant Rooks, The Reality) and Marco Pleil. "Keine Zeit" was mastered by Christian Bethge (Gewalt, Messer, Stella Sommer, Heim, Pleil). The bonus CD "More Time" contains six earlier Pleil songs, available for the first time on a silver disc and remastered by Christian Bethge: "Love Greetings! / Jazz is not an option", released in 2021 on the limited vinyl single, the "Punkt.statt,Komma" EP with three songs was Pleil's first release as a solo artist in 2013 and the "Gustav-Jäger-Remix" was only available as a free download for a short time in 2014.

Anyone who has seen the Bayreuth trio Weak Willies live knows the unbelievably rousing power that emanates from their legendary performances. They were already on stage when the German flagship label Glitterhouse Records caused a stir among fans and the media internationally with Sixties Rock/Garage Punk and cooperations with Sub Pop and Amphetamine Reptile. Mudhoney, Helmet, Monster Magnet or Mother Tongue, the list of influences could be extended beyond the post-grunge era. Singer/guitarist Peter Wtritt, bassist/singer Andreas Hoffmann and drummer/singer Ralf Irmler have remained rock 'n' roll junkies to this day, letting their congenial gaze wander to alternative country rock. So it's not surprising that the three Franconians don't need to shy away from comparisons with Anglo-American role models from The Stooges and Ramones to the Foo Fighters and European colleagues like The Hives. The Weak Willies haven't released anything for a long time. Now they return with the long awaited album Anti-Asshole Squad. As soon as we hear it, we notice how much we missed them and with a total of 17 titles they live up to the motto "Everything in the name of rock 'n' roll". The Weak Willies have stayed true to themselves without treading water. With "Anti-Asshole Squad" they have 100% managed to bring the raw spirit of their encyclopaedic knowledge of music back to CD.

2020. A year that will surely go down in the history books! It would have been nice because of the first PLEIL album "Die Spur des Kalenders", which was released in April. Unfortunately no, it should be Corona!
The (virus) catastrophe that paralyzed the world, made all music releases and live concerts almost impossible or even redundant. What to do as a creative? (Marco) PLEIL was no different than everyone else. The lifebelt flew to him in the form of a grant from the Hessian Cultural Foundation: "Reopen Hessen culturally". But please!
The idea and the plan were quickly made: to top it off with the "The Trace of the Calendar" album and give the whole thing a fresh boost! Thought done! In September 2020 we went again to the RAMA recording studio in Mannheim with producer Christian Bethge (Messer, Laura Carbone, Violence, Heim).
They recorded two brand new songs. The first to PLEIL after
"The Trace of the Calendar" wrote: "Greetings!" and "Jazz is not an option". The same DNA and yet much more mature! Suddenly a drum loop rumbles through the song, it organs and the acoustic guitar, so despised on the album, carefully lurks through the arrangements. You keep developing! Please listen and share!
"You hate me, I kiss you" is the debut EP by the rock duo Any Dirty Party. It has been recorded on analog tape and mixed in two days at Outside Inside Studio by Matt Bordin and mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago. "You Hate Me, I Kiss You" includes four original tracks and a rearranged cover of Fleetwood Mac's song Looking or somebody. The EP comes in a photographic artwork conceived and realized by the band itself and it's available in both Vinyl and CD.

With Stormwind's Flaming Wings, this time we intentionally went beyond the grand history of the world, because every human being has their own distinctive story. So we took on the topic that runs through history forever and timelessly like a red thread on which everything seems to hang: love, which in some way plays the dominant role in everyone's life. As in the previous work (“Mit Krone, Kreuz und Geistkraft”), we have secured top-class support from the German dubbing scene. With Udo Schenk, Jan Spitzer, Tobias Kluckert, Maja Maneiro and Bernd Vollbrecht, five great speakers, known from countless cinema and television films, can be heard. It was our privilege to work with them. So we invite the audience to a festival of the senses. May the music, the voices and the words create images before your eyes that allow you to immerse yourself in the mystery of love as it always was, is and will be: "...love - a riddle that no human understands.”

He was an artist of life. Immigrant. A city nomad. Or, as Eric Pulverich puts it with a smile: "A pretty disheveled, drug-ridden slob." But: One with a good heart. His name? kyle This Kyle guided Eric, who was then touring Australia at the age of 19, through Sydney's nightlife. A wild, unpredictable trip. Kyle knew everyone and nobody; was right in the middle of the action and at the same time a lonely figure. "Kyle is together alone" went through Eric's mind. When the singer and guitarist founded the nucleus of a band with Johann Giertz (bass) at university in 2011 and later completed it with Daniel Mau (guitar and synths) and Jan Fischer (drums), he called it after the short form of this sentence: Kyles Tolone.

Kaufhaus Dahl play German-language indie rock with reminiscences of the early NDW and a pinch of post-punk. You had to tell them that first, but now they like it. The debut "Für Alle" mainly contains up-tempo numbers with refrains that stick and some other (medically harmless) brain milling. There's guitars, bass, drums and vocals and little frills, but plenty of pop appeal. A cheap e-pad from Asia and a Dutch Philicorda organ from the 1960s have also crept in. The texts are about, for example, the self-optimization madness or the reverberation of the social media echo chambers as well as the weather, small and large clubs, the botch of the past or simply the frustration about the relegation of the football club (which has meanwhile risen again is). So far, Kaufhaus Dahl has mainly played on the Rhine and Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia, but with "Für Alle" it will also be going to the neighboring federal states from late summer 2019. The small town department store is on its way. The album was created in the "Klangfabrique" Lohmar and is available through Timezone Records.

"Color" is the long-awaited follow-up album to the predecessor "Belonging", which the East Westphalians released four years ago. Time that was used to work extensively on new sounds, time that was used to reflect. We live in “modern times”, which seem to be the age of populism, marked by fears, social insecurity, hatred, discrimination and narcissism. We live in a world that seems to be increasingly divided into black and white, monotonous, colorless. A young generation finds itself between hope and doubt, between rebellion and fear; a generation striving for self-expression and self-fulfilment, watching this society slowly being driven to the brink of insanity.

Sebastian Weisser and Nicolai Höhler from Berlin and Dresden-City make noise like a five-piece lo-fi garage band. Or like the soul of a speeding vintage moped. Unrelentingly loving, they tear at guitars and demand tempos from their percussion far beyond urban speed limits. A mash-up of new wave, blues and psychedelic accompanies their snotty screaming. Screw it mentality? Not at all. The two shine with the playfulness of an undisguised naive gaze. Travel In Space is the appreciation of the moment. The fox who is afraid of the city lights and the desire to fly south with the migratory birds. The band stands for self-determination, not having to go to school and against the "green and mean" influence of the police. The guys have been playing together since 2010 and come from punk. On their tours from Berlin to Madrid, one thing in particular should never be missing: the many small parts of the percussion set given by fans and friends. Her new album "My Mother's Drums" will be released on September 21st, 2017 on off label records.

Marco Pleil has been on stages since 1990 and with his first band "Strange" (file under: Pop-Punk) and the debut album of the same name in 1996, after countless concerts, he finally ended up with "Rock am Ring" (and the album later too in the USA). From 1999, after the dissolution of Strange and a creative break, he then released four albums as/with "Cloudberry", after a short single trip with EMI, and played shows with Editors, Nada Surf, Breeders, Ash, Rivals Schools, adventurous overnight stays on shared floors and backstage sofas included. Rolling Stone magazine wrote at the time about Cloudberry's last album "The Closer We Get": "...sounds a bit like trying to think of Britpop and US college rock together. Contemporaries might think of a rougher edition of Miles.” 2011, after the implosion of Cloudberry, then finally Marco's decision to go on stage alone. How? Somehow! Electric guitar & (from now on German) vocals. Screwed together a digital EP in the studio (“Punkt.statt,Komma”), then just played a few concerts, tried them out: stage large/medium/small, café, club, festivals. The concerts will be numerous, including with scene greats such as Therapy? (Acoustic Tour), The Wedding Present, Wayne Hussey (The Mission), Tito & Tarantula and a visit to the renowned Maifeld Derby. The idea of making a solo album matures. A first attempt with producer Ekki Maas from the band "Erdmöbel" bears fruit in 2 songs ("Zerstorer", "Gemeinsam Einsam") and a DIY CD single, which Pleil eagerly sells to men and women at concerts. "Like Kettcar solo" says the Flight13 mail order, "I recommend these songs to those who love Changes by David Bowie and are open to Tocotronic and Britpop." writes the online magazine "Musicampus". In 2018 Marco then sent an email to Christian Bethge (productions for Messer, Laura Carbone, Violence, Stella Sommer, among others). A phone call and a night's sleep then the decision: he will record his first PLEIL album with him! In May 2019 we went to the RAMA studio in Mannheim for 5 days. During the production, Pleil and Bethge work in an emphatically minimalist way and completely dispense with acoustic guitars and percussion, only a few overdubs and Marco's doubled vocals fill in atmospheric gaps. "The Trace of the Calendar" is lo-fi, raw and direct.

After a joint living room jam session in the east of Stuttgart, one thing was clear for singer and ney player Iter Ünal and pianist Fabian Meyer, namely to make music together. Fabian invites Ilter to a concert of his long-standing Fabian Meyer Trio with Sebastian Schuster (bass, state jazz prize winner Baden-Württemberg 2017) and Felix Schrack (drums) to sing along to a few songs. Inspired by this meeting, the two then write many new songs in a short time. Without fear of contact, they use a wide variety of genres such as jazz, alternative rock, pop, electronic and traditional Turkish music. Iter writes the texts in English and Turkish, his mother tongue. A few months later the four musicians go into the studio to record and produce the debut album Sakin. Lunaves - a band with a very unique sound between melancholy and energy, moon and earth - is born.

Unplaces live!, as the name of the album suggests, is the new disc from Unplaces - an album with the live hits of the past releases and years. The songs not only represent the previous records "Changes" (2018), Ambition (2016) and Time (2014), but also reflect the musical spectrum of Unplaces. From rock numbers to melancholic songs to danceable hits. Of the same kind, “Time”, which the band actually had on their setlist at all their concerts, is also a crowd pleaser! It is a recording of the concert on February 9th, 2019 from the flashbacks of their hometown Bochum, which was refined with additional recordings in the Wellencocktail recording studio in Hanover. The band's joy of playing is acoustically tangible, paired with their enthusiastic audience, a beautiful, emotional album came out of it, which is not only an enrichment for fans, but also a great start for new discoverers of the band due to the song selection. A consequent enrichment of UNPLACES discography, which makes the inspiring and stirring atmosphere of their concerts clear. Accompanying the album release, UNPLACES can be experienced live until the end of the year and beyond and of course they have the released live songs with them.

Inspire, but don't paint. Often positive, but sometimes also mercilessly honest The guys from the Karlsruhe post-grunge band OX, founded in 2015, are concerned with finding a place in our complex world. Going new ways, having the courage to do something and working through setbacks is what they demand of themselves and of their listeners. After the debut album "Rewind to Overwrite" (2016), "Breaking Point" is the second album by the band around singer and songwriter Simon Ochs, who has audibly matured musically. With hard riffs, melodic refrains and catchy songs, the band has now created its own identity between 90s grunge and modern rock sounds after their debut album, which has not yet been clearly defined stylistically. This ranges from harder songs, partly enriched with modern synth sounds like "Leftover", rhythmic-groovy rock sounds ("Never Wanted to Be Like You", "Going Down") to catchy mid-tempo rock songs ("Disappointed"). . There are also danceable numbers like "Breaking Point" and even a slowly building, orchestrally arranged ballad ("A New Start"). Lyrically, the band deals with socially critical issues and interpersonal problems. The song "Fade Away" deserves special mention. Introduced by acoustic guitars and a slide guitar, it then develops into a real rock anthem. The album, mastered by Grammy-nominated sound engineer Robin Schmidt, is rounded off by an absolutely contemporary, very full, oppressive sound that still comes out of the speakers very transparently. OX has found its own style on their second record and offers modern and musically appealing rock in almost 40 varied minutes, in which some songs will certainly not leave your ear canal so quickly.

There has hardly ever been a time when there was more judgment about good and evil than today. Everyone claims to be able to distinguish between the two – but they are anything but in agreement among themselves. With their concept album 'Black', Scintilla Anima draw an artistic complete work about good and bad as well as their connections and contradictions in the minds of their listeners. With their 'Wall of Dark Sound', the band from Düsseldorf around muse Trinity produces pop, new wave, avant-garde - fitting the theme of the album 'Black', sometimes contradictory. Even the single 'Awake' hit the German Alternative Charts (DAC) without the support of major labels or promotion agencies and even rushed into the top ten at number 7. The follow-up, 'Emptiness of Black', follows on seamlessly from this wake-up call thanks in part to prominent support from Olaf Wollschläger (Unheilig, And One, Mesh). The band is concerned with this album about identity and self-realization, about encouraging a young generation to form their own opinions and thoughts, to go through the world without prejudice, to take responsibility and to draw their view of the world in all its bright colors , instead of falling into black and white thinking. “Love becomes our language and words our loaded gun!” (futuremakers) Color will be released as a digipack and download as well as in an exclusive, limited box set, which contains the digipack, an extended booklet, a second CD with 5 instrumentals as well as demo recordings from the songwriting process and unreleased live acoustic recordings, a signed autograph card , a fine art print of a band picture, a foldable rhombohedron as well as stickers and picks.

The journey begins around 2012, when the band members, who are equally rooted in Vienna, Graz and Imst, launched the trio Under Violet Skies. Since then, the Austrians have been sonicating the country beyond the mountains and borders with rich guitar riffs from the hands of Alex, who sets the hard direction with his epochal guitar sound. These sounds are supported by bass man Josef, who brings the appropriate depth to the songs. Marina finally mixes up the heavy metal style with her tender voice and meets the tastes far beyond the borders of the genre Metallers out in perfection! In addition, she - who successfully completed her drum studies in the USA - not only hits hard drums, but also soft piano tones if necessary. With his new album "Colors of Chaos" interprets the unusual Dreigestirn already in the album title the diversity of his music - without that to be unfaithful to one's own style: an unusual mixture of driving riffs, hard drums and a soft core. "The Girl, The God, The Rush" will be released on March 9th - the first studio album by the German-Dutch band SUiT. The mix of hard, rocking songs and extraordinary ballads was recorded in the well-known Moon Studios in Holland in winter 2016/17 and presents a promising new act to the dusty European rock scene. SUiT deliver sexy and robotic monster riffs, bluesy rhythms and layered melodies. Songs like "Robot Sweat" or "1q84" show that these guys also have a weakness for the dance floor - a dark, dirty, Tarantinoesque one at that! Despite the heaviness of SUiT's rocking side, songs like "Kings and Queens", "Quicksand Waterfalls" or "Over the Next Hill" make you melt away. Combining sophistication, space and psychedelic elements, this rock quartet manages to get you dancing along the way with ease. And while "The Girl, The God, The Rush" sounds seductively sweet, the album offers enough rough edges and lyrical turmoil to keep it interesting. Singer Brown is a skilled storyteller, singing about romantic obsessions, torturous affairs, the dark side of friendships, or the Sisyphean task of letting go. This album was long overdue and here it is at last: an alternative rock album that marks the beginning of an emotional, strong and exciting band. This is SUIT.

This rock quartet explores elegance, space, and psychedelia and equally unaffectedly makes you want to move your ass. And even though "The Girl, The God,The Rush" is seductively sweet in sound, there are just enough rough edges and lyrical unrest to keep things interesting. Singer Brown is a skillful storyteller, versifying between romantic obsession and haunting affairs, diving into the dark side of a friendship or a Sisyphus-like tale of letting go. Sporty, sporty: Somewhere between modern metal, alternative rock with progressive influences and powerful stadium rock, Nump master the balancing act between convention and musical standards in an almost acrobatic manner. The music of the Franconian fivesome varies deliberately, sometimes even provocatively, between heavy 7-string riffing and atmospheric balladesque epic, but always comes up with well thought-out song structures. On the one hand, the guys thrash with tight force and meter-high guitar walls, only to lose themselves in minimalist sound experiments the next moment and at the same time prove with an almost casual matter-of-factness that the art of the guitar solo is far from dead in modern rock and metal. It is precisely this contrast that is Nump's characteristic stylistic element, which serves as the framework for her musical work. 2017 saw the release of Nump's fourth studio album "Sun Is Cycling" with nine brand new songs. Neat groove, catchy hooklines and high suitability for live served as the specifications for the songwriting. In terms of sound, a decent shovel could also be added compared to the previous albums. Quite clearly: the music is really fun, also because it quickly becomes clear that there is also a lot of craftsmanship on offer. Songwriter Thorsten Geschwandtner demonstrates an outstanding songwriting talent and is supported by singer Christian Seynstahl with partly genre-untypical melodic, partly powerful vocal lines. The musical empathy results in the coherent overall picture: the band Nump.

Nejat Dimili's songs dance cautiously to melodies that reveal no identity whatsoever. Somewhere in the mist they unite with dark-cold lyrics that drip down from the desolate heights of romance. A heavy bass and dramatic synthesizers that float out of the speakers towards the listener present motifs like smoke - difficult to grasp and unclearly defined. His stories seem to come from a dream stuck somewhere between sleep and wakefulness. His songs harbor confused souls and confront the listener with sheer loneliness, which Dimili delivers with the utmost sincerity - and perhaps this numb feeling is what is romantic about his songs.

For years, Steve walked past Alexander's former bookstore every day. Both are experienced musicians. Steve Train with his "Bad Habits" and Alexander Möckl with "The Leadbelly Project" and various solo projects as "poembeat". So why not do something together for once? Ideas for a joint project came immediately. The chemistry was right from the start. Several recordings were made in their own studio. Two of them can now be heard on the debut single.
The Ducs are one of those phenomena that have become very rare. A rock band in which the fans in band shirts wait long before the entrance in front of the hall and permanently accompany the music and life of their favorite band. After a tour through America and as Seether's tour support, the trio from Hanover was able to gain a lot of experience that can now be found on their debut album "Disillusion".

Around ten years after the debut album The Last Goodbye Is Not Always The End, which was released in 2006, the new album by the indie band project The Nouve will be released in spring 2016. Under the programmatic title Greatest Hits, mastermind and songwriter Robert Nouve has once again invited highly qualified guests to create eleven highly remarkable and catchy song pearls with him. Stylistically, the whole thing moves in the broad spectrum that is typical for Nouve's work, between anthemic rock, sophisticated indie pop, recourse to the sound aesthetics and energy of punk, wave and underground as well as intimate ballad-esque moments with the addition of catchy pop melodies and intelligent lyrics, in short: the mixture for which Nouve once invented the specific genre of depressive pop. Sonically, it was all enhanced by mixing by John Agnello and mastering by Scott Hull, both recognized figures in their fields and with too long a list of exceptional achievements in the music business to list here. Despite or perhaps because of the completely analogue and musically intensive sound, comparisons with the early works of bands such as New Order, The Cure, Nick Cave or the Sisters Of Mercy will accompany the listener throughout the entire album.

Twin Flames play a midnight blue scene - somewhere between waking dream and vision - where the senses fail and the heart becomes the blind guide of the mind. The music finds its own way in Ethereal Rock. Hopeful, delicate and fragile scenarios blossom over rumbling, heavy arrangements. Vocals, guitar, bass and drums together paint a picture of this magnificent yet fragile night feeling.
