The music of Munich trumpeter Florian Brandl is intense, fresh and full of energy. Models from hard bop, mainstream and modern jazz flow into an individual band sound, which gives a lot of space to the interaction between the musicians who love to play. After the CD debut "Rejuvenation" (2015, label: Timezone), his second CD "Dresden" (also Timezone) will be released on Friday, June 7th, 2019: a homage to a two-year stay in the beautiful city on the Elbe.
As the culmination of their master's degree at the Carl-Maria-von-Weber University of Music, the Florian Brandl Quartet from Munich came to the Tonne jazz club in Dresden on May 17, 2018 for the final concert and the following day this CD was released in the Ballroom Studios in Dresden, including video recordings ( see homepage) was created.
Florian Brandl is a versatile wind player who feels at home in numerous styles with his cultivated sound. He shared the stage with Sam Rivers, Don Byron, Franco d'Andrea, Johannes Enders, Gàbor Bolla, Dusko Gojkovic and many others.
