Prog metal outfit CHAOSBAY from Berlin / Kaiserslautern are re-releasing their
debut album VASILISA (2015) as a completely remastered version. This time with a
classy digipack design, including lyrics and credits.
With its digital release in 2015, the album made the band internationally known as a
prog insider tip. The record is based on the Russian fairy tale "The beautiful Vasilisa"
by Alexander Afanasyev and is a concept album, which tells the story in terms of
content and music through all eight chapters.
Brutal staccato riffs, double-bass thunderstorms and epic melodies lead through this
piece at high speed. The sound can be compared to bands like DREAM THEATER,
OPETH and PORCUPINE TREE. In the process, topics are repeatedly taken up,
processed and combined almost symphonically to form a large overall work that
sounds closed, entertaining and exciting.
Singer and main songwriter Jan Listing screams, growls, sings playfully over several
octaves, from gentle to aggressive. Virtuoso instrumental passages alternate with
catchy hooklines and atmospheric pads.
Produced and mixed by Daniel Weber (bass player for German prog-gods THE
INTERSPHERE), the album shines with a powerful, modern and yet organic sound.
VASILISA brings CHAOSBAY into another league and gives a foretaste of the highly
acclaimed follow-up album ASYLUM (2020).
"Strong and definitely worth hearing" - Baby Blue Pages 2019
"Vasilisa means queen - a worthy name for this masterpiece" - Streetclip.de 2015

Keep your feet still? Stay cool? Only ice-cold guys can do that with the songs of the Berlin band KENSINGTON ROAD. Everyone else is immediately hooked on the band's modern, international sound, which skilfully bridges the gap between indie rock and alternative pop. Authentic songs that get by without bells and whistles - because after thousands of kilometers in the tour bus through all of Europe and countless live shows, the “hard-working band” knows exactly what they are singing about.
With stories of friendship, solidarity and confidence, but also stumbling, falling and getting up again, SEX DEVILS OCEAN goes straight to the heart. Especially in times like these, KENSINGTON ROAD show all social and personal insecurities the finger and always remain positive. Far from the usual rock clichés, the band lures the audience from their reserves with forward-pushing energy and a passionate live show. Real, authentic, no bullshit.
“Electrifying songs with battle-tested riffs, tingling melodies and a high density of instruments. Original and exciting - rock that is fun without being fun. "(KN)

Corin Curschellas is celebrating her stage anniversary with a special 4-CD box set. Corin Curschellas performed live for the first time 50 years ago and already showed her versatile talents back then. This anniversary was an occasion for the Tourbo Music label to look back on the career of the Graubünden singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and actress and to publish the extraordinary retrospective "Collecziuns: Her Songs 1990-2010+2022".
In 2023, Corin Curschellas is best known for new versions of traditional Romanesque folk songs that are as subtle as they are fresh, which she has created in changing formations over the past twelve years. These are loved by the audience and praised by the media. Because of this, however, Corin Curschellas' earlier work was somewhat forgotten, especially since these recordings are outdated. Therefore, the focus of the retrospective was placed on her own compositions from the years 1990-2010, in which she showed herself to be linguistically and stylistically cosmopolitan. They are songs in dialect, German, English, French and Romansh, which were recorded in studios in Graubünden, Zurich, Berlin, Vienna, Paris, London and New York with countless musicians from Switzerland, Europe, Africa and the USA.
The selection of the pieces was made by Mathias Rüegg, the spiritus rector of the Vienna Art Orchestra, in which Corin Curschellas worked as a solo singer for many years. The renowned composer and arranger has created a very personal and not a chronological or thematic compilation. Despite all the musical and linguistic diversity, the unmistakably clear and multifaceted voice of Corin Curschellas is always the focus. The 60 pieces also include some unpublished solo pieces and poem settings from 2022, as well as four works composed for Corin Curschellas with the Vienna Art Orchestra. In addition to the four CDs, the box also contains two stylishly designed brochures illustrated with numerous photos with all the lyrics and tributes to 26 personalities.
