"The old Pottbäcker" Bernd Niehenke continues the dual sound processing of his ancestors on the Hüggel: during the day the cool clay is dug up and processed, in the evening hot music is made. After lengthy stays in Texas and Mexico, Grandpa's accordion was dusted off, and the squeeze chest played waltzes and polkas practically by itself. Spanish texts about dangerous women and lovable horses corresponded to the rural attitude towards life in the Teutoburg Forest and are now being interpreted in Low German. Together with a great band, Tex-Mex music is brought back to Europe and grounded thoroughly. Blues and boogie from the swamps of Louisiana as well as the high-lonesome sound from the Appalachia are added.
