Versatile, playful and surprising, Andreas Witte presents with "Far Beyond The Road" a guitar-instrumental album that cannot be clearly assigned to just one genre – here the joy of experimentation and flexibility is more than clear.
Particularly striking is the extremely dynamically played solo guitar, which for once does not score with breathtaking virtuosity, but with tangible melody lines that are easy to hear. Andreas Witte, who was influenced by instrumental guitar music of various genres early on, uses the guitar and its dynamics to create a variety of timbres that can definitely take the place of a singing voice.
The style of the album doesn't get boring either: The consistently self-written numbers range from rock to blues and ballads to pieces that suggest influences from Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.
The guitarist from Vogelsberg in Hesse collected his own songs over the years and finally arranged them into "Far Beyond The Road". According to Andreas, the album represents a continuous process – and thus also a piece of life history. Which backgrounds or previous stories have influenced the various pieces of the album is ultimately left to the imagination of the listener...
