Olaf Sickmann - Slow (CD)
Inspired by life in the "land between the seas" (Schleswig-Holstein) and by his everyday life as a father and artist, the composer, guitarist and tin whistle player Olaf Sickmann has recorded timelessly beautiful guitar music on his new CD "Slow", whose magic it's hard to get away from. Wonderfully flowing melodies that radiate calm and serenity, over which a touch of Celtic, classical and soundtrack-like music hovers, give this album a meditative character. It becomes effective after just a few notes and immediately captivates the listener.
So it's no wonder that the music of this extremely independent artist is regularly played on radio and television and is described as "amazingly beautiful" by the largest German newspaper for folk and world music (Folker). The renowned guitar magazine "Akustik instrumente" says about his last guitar album: "As a result, the guitar poet presents three quarters of an hour of masterfully fluently played melodies." And the "Folkmagazin" is also enthusiastic about the "hypnotic flow of Sickmann's fantastic six-string odyssey".
In order to give the audience interested in guitars the opportunity to delve deeper into "Slow", Olaf Sickmann has included an e-book with all the compositions (sheet music/tablature) on the CD. Ultimately, "Slow" offers one thing above all: to find peace in everyday life!
