Ralph Symann (chamber orchestra Camerata Würzburg, conductor Matthias Beckert) - milestones (CD)

Regular price €14,95 The composer Ralph Symann grew up in a musically "multicultural" environment and became familiar with a wide range of different musical languages at an early age. Classical and rock music made a lasting impression on him. Ultimately, however, it is classical music, more precisely the category of "popular classical music", that is decisive for his artistic path. The structures of this music, especially the major-minor tonality, are not just arbitrary definitions for Ralph Symann - he finds his musical-artistic home there. In intensive and systematic work, which he continued autodidactically after graduating from high school, he acquired knowledge of music theory. The analysis of his role models also takes up just as much space. And his own compositions?
Here it means first of all: Use of the variety of different styles, playing with form and architecture, variability in the compositional technique. And yet, in keeping with the profile described above, the principles of classic form theory and functional harmony are never broken. In this way, the music has a reliable basis and the joy of experimenting has its limits. At the end of each compositional work there should then be a self-contained, “self-evident” work of art that pleases both the public and the specialist. Ralph Symann has released two CDs so far. The latest album "Marksteine" is dedicated to instrumental music and offers a range of diverse orchestral works from concerts to symphonic works, some in chamber formations, some in larger formations with wind instruments. The music will be interpreted by the chamber orchestra "Camerata Würzburg" under the direction of Matthias Beckert, professor at the University of Music in Würzburg.
