A sick world - but what is healthy? How many bad jokes can you take? What really helps us against the hangover the next morning? Questions upon questions at the Aunt Doctor have more than one answer. Tante Doktor, a band of musicians and doctors from Gießen, process their experiences and impressions from everyday hospital life and a little bit of life that remains on their current album "Bettnachbar". With gnarly pop and fluffy indie, the two voices help each other with Rhodes, bass and beats to bring their texts with a lot of content to the audience. A partly disturbing, consistently captivating and palpably real insight into the emotional world behind and under the smock. Tante Doktor promises an intensive evening without a waiting room and with a wide range of symptoms. From a lump in your throat to a sore laughing muscle to the delayed danger of reverberation.
"...Aunt Doctor wonderfully easily manages the balancing act between sadness and happiness. Conjures up a smile on everyone's faces or thoughtfulness, with soulful music, bizarre anecdotes and jokes. Aunt Doctor has nothing in common with naive do-gooders. Here, musical and textual creativity goes hand in hand with sensitive and yet X-ray accurate observations. From a different point of view, they completely 'unsterile' change our view of a still taboo area of our society.” (Badisches Tagblatt)
“What at first appears to be a threat for a hypochondriac turns out to be first class during the first listening impression. Such strongly vocalized medical poetry is a punch in the pit of the stomach, but certainly bizarre enough to captivate the listener with a certain degree of fascination.” (www.lieinthesound.com)
