For the last two years Ronja has been working on a musical diary, in ten pieces of music and a poetry companion volume, filled with autobiographical stories. HEIMWEH is the supplement and sibling of wanderlust, exceptionally completely in German. It's about thoughtfulness, poetry and a return to one's own roots. CD and book are to be released at the end of July, when Ronja is allowed to perform with Udo Lindenberg at the Hermann Hesse Festival.
Ronja plays cello, guitar, ukulele, piano and loves to tell stories. About being on the road, about long journeys, big dreams and courage, about encounters and togetherness. On stage, she invites the listener with her band, the BlueBird Orchestra, on a musical journey around the world. Four years ago she met her Argentinian music partner Fede in Italy. Since then, the two have traveled to 15 countries together, played over 300 concerts and produced two studio albums. In 2021, Ronja was the proud winner of the Udo Lindenberg Foundation's Panic Prize, which encourages young musicians: #do it!

Good things can appear out of the blue. And they do, even if the world is caught in time and the past two pandemic years are more than blurred in memory. The initial spark came out of the blue and new compositions and texts were created by Klaus Ignatzek and Susanne Menzel, who not only appears here for the first time as an extremely talented lyricist, but also as a composer. The two well attuned musicians wrote the songs for this album within a few weeks. Colorful chords, energetic improvisations and rhythms, sometimes powerful, calm or elegiac, create a variety of different moods. Life in the twenties is characterized by searching for and waiting for something that you don't know exactly what it is. A virus comes along and orders the cultural world to come to a standstill. But the universe is more powerful and cannot be stopped. With their third big bang, The Universe By Ear worked their way further into their own sound cosmos. After the liberating I and the structured II, the trio has now explored the depths and breadths on their third self-titled work. From field service to sales manager of a software company, interim manager and film production manager to vice-president of an Internet & Web TV company, he still works today as managing partner of the company EGS-Optik GmbH (purchasing and marketing association for ophthalmic optics shops) and the company "Die-SW-Factory GmbH" (coaching cryptocurrencies & internet services) in Bavaria.
Despite his commercial career, the singer and musician Schulte never neglected his roots. He processes his life experience, especially in the time marked by Corona, in his second album "PENSION".

On June 24, 2022, 22 years after his debut album, Chris Colter's new album will be released on TIMEZONE Records under the humorous title "Nice To Be Back To Be Back Nice".
Most contemporaries know the powerful-voiced Bavarian by his real name Christian "Cheese" Koller and above all as a singer in bands such as Tana Nile, Snakehunter or the CheeseBallz. In the calm of 2021, Chris looks back on an impressive back catalog of 6 studio albums, one live album and 36 years of gigs on many stages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Dozens of songs were written during this period and never released. The idea of ​​a musical inventory ends in summer in the Ostwerk music production studio north of Regensburg. Produced by Richie Necker, 12 new, exclusively self-written songs are created, which tell stories and dreams from the world of real small town boys in their very own way - sometimes like John Hiatt, sometimes like Bob Seger, sometimes like Blackberry Smoke.
In 1999 the singer / songwriter presented his debut album "Late at Night", which was recorded in Nashville USA and produced by Joe Sun. Back then, Chris was working with a number of well-known songwriters, such as Gary Nicholson, who can also be found on the then current Wynonna album and who had also written for Petty Loveless and Billy Ray Cyrus. Another interesting songwriter on "Late at Night" is John E. Moffat, who also wrote for Pam Tillis and Steve Earl, among others. He also brought some interesting musicians into the studio, who hired out to country greats like Lyle Lovette and Faith Hill. Late at Night was released by Rosewood Records.
The creation of the debut seemed to have electrified the long-established country squad around the German American Country Music Federation and Chris Colter was nominated for their award as Newcomer of the Year 1999 and invited to the big country gala in Chemnitz. However, the nomination remained. After all, the jury awarded the singer / songwriter the title "too rock for country, too country for rock".

Dagmar Wilgo is known as a recorder virtuoso. With her latest, third CD in the triad "me, myself & i" on TIMEZONE RECORDS, she makes a strong statement for the music world. For his latest album "Wellentanz", guitarist, composer and sound artist Falk Zenker was inspired by dancing and at the same time created space-giving music that invites you to dance, let yourself be moved and dream away. His individual virtuoso fingerstyle meets the sound aesthetics of loop-based club music between downbeat, trance, funk, folk rock and worldbeats.
With this production, Zenker pushes his art of live looping to the extreme, which he, as the first German acoustic guitarist, has consistently celebrated and refined on stage in more than 1500 solo concerts for 25 years. He elicits unexpected percussive and partly electronically alienated sounds from his guitar and lets them dance together in the form of orchestral, psychedelic, pulsating sound structures. In such loops, finely balanced in the studio, he integrates improvisational moments from recordings of various live and online performances, thus combining audiophile studio production with the immediacy of a concert.
The video productions for all tracks impressively show how Zenker is able to spontaneously conjure up this sophisticated sound firework live on stage with hands and feet - produced exclusively in the moment with guitar, electronic effects, a loop machine and lots of atmospheric improvisations.
After a gentle opening, the tracks lead us into the archaic power of the forest, let us unite lightly with our shadows, move us dreamily on the waves of polyrhythmic 3-beats in the title piece, kidnap us into a powerful autumn-golden trance, drive us once again to the joyful one Move on and finally release with a meditative finish.

When a band describes themselves as "left-wing sleazy system folks", it's hard to deny a political attitude, but if you check JUAKALI's online performance, you'll see a lot of fun, buddies and very likeable guys at the same time. The album is divided into four chapters, Ocean of Time (winter), Sound of the Forest (spring), Forever on the Road (summer) and Finding Home (fall). The artist Annika von der Ley from Münster designed the four-part banner that illustrates all four chapters.
Ronja not only loves to combine musical styles and linguistic facets in her music, but also to bring people together with their different arts.

With her musical partner Federico Marina, she played almost 200 concerts last year, in a wide variety of formations, from acoustic duo to 12-piece big band on the rock festival stage, everything was there: cello, nyckelharpa, handpan, Celtic harp, saxophone, violin , double bass, ukulele, guitarlele, drums, percussion, tuba, horns, trumpet, flugelhorn, singers and dancers... Ronja and Fede write most of their songs with acoustic guitar or piano alone.
Where Ronja's wealth of ideas bubbles inexhaustibly, so does Fede's technical know-how. Originally a bass player and singer, he becomes a cameraman and video editor, designer, stage manager, light and sound technician at Ronja's side, who also plays the guitar, cajon, chimes, shaker, glockenspiel and bass while singing and jumping on stage.
In no time at all, the two unpack their portable home from their music van, their own stage with a colorful 4-meter banner, carpet, umbrella lamp, giant teddy bear, colorful lights, fog and bubble machine, their own P/A and countless instruments. And then sometimes three, sometimes eight or sometimes 12 musicians hop into the musical living room. They have now visited more than 15 different countries with their music.

The album artwork was designed by Hanna Ligeti (ligarti.de), in a multi-layered collage all aspects and stories of the individual songs are merged into a total work of art.

Marco Pleil, the voice with electric guitar from Rhein-Main. Two years after his debut album "Die Spur des Kalenders" and the subsequent single "Love Greetings!/Jazz is not an option", the second album "Keine Zeit" is released again via Timezone Records.
Even standing still is not an option for Pleil! That's why he goes several steps further with "Keine Zeit". While "Die Spur des Kalenders" was a statement in minimalism, Pleil builds (in the truest sense of the word) on loops, beats and, above all, on his old love of incisive bass playing for the twelve new songs. The first single "Depressive Komödianten" combines the most beautiful New Order melancholy with college rock a la REM, "Aus dem Off" could also come from an early The Cure album and the second single "Schön Dich zu sucht" is an electro /Acoustic rocker in compact Hüsker-Dü postpunk songwriting. And before anyone asks: No, it's not a Corona album, neither about nor influenced by! It's the logical step that Pleil has to take. Live and solo, he continues to break the songs down to their skeletal form. But in the context of the album, there are now no more limits!
"Keine Zeit" was produced in the band's own "Bear Cave Studio" by the Cologne band "Locas in Love" by Nicolas Epe (including the Peter Muffin Trio, screenshots), Luis Müller-Wallraf (including the Giant Rooks, The Reality) and Marco Pleil. "Keine Zeit" was mastered by Christian Bethge (Gewalt, Messer, Stella Sommer, Heim, Pleil).
The bonus CD "More Time" contains six earlier Pleil songs, available for the first time on a silver disc and remastered by Christian Bethge: "Love Greetings! / Jazz is not an option", released in 2021 on the limited vinyl single, the "Punkt.statt,Komma" EP with three songs was Pleil's first release as a solo artist in 2013 and the "Gustav-Jäger-Remix" was only available as a free download for a short time in 2014.

...that's the best way to describe the sound of Andy Robson & Urban Fox.
And you can hear that very clearly on the band's new album entitled "Be Forgiving". And while this album marks the band's debut on Timezone Records, they're anything but "newcomers." Quite the contrary... The band, made up of experienced top Berlin musicians, has been touring Germany for years under the motto "Rooted in Rootsmusic" as one of the best blues-oriented live bands in the republic and has already inspired thousands of blues and rock fans during this time .
However, the busy musicians never had the time to produce an album. The lockdown period has finally been used for an album. And the result is a work that can undoubtedly compete with the productions of the best and most well-known German blues rock artists such as Freischlader, Diehlmann & Co. The thoroughbred musician and frontman Andy Robson, born in Berlin in 1977, has always been relatively indifferent to musical trends since he started making music as a teenager in the early 90s. To this day, his style is based on the music that has touched and shaped him since his earliest youth: blues, blues rock, funk and soul....mainly played by greats of the 60s/70s like BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin , The Allmann Brothers Band or James Brown and Stevie Wonder.
Two other guitarists who were very influential for Andy Robson's own guitar sound are Gary Moore and Warren Haynes. You can hear this at the live shows as well as on the album "Be Forgiving". Fat, "dirty" but still creamy-warm and singing guitar solos and groovy rocking riffs that make the blues rock fan's heart beat faster. He can do that offer a bluesy-rocking vocals that more than does justice to a band of this style and is rather rare to find in German-speaking countries.
With Chris Krauss (bass), Philipp Schmitt (drums) and Ludger Wirsig (Hammond), he also has three congenial musical partners who deliver powerful and tight grooves and an authentic blues rock sound and are undoubtedly more than just one "Backing Band". The exceptional keyboardist Ludger Wirsig also offers a nice addition to Robson's guitar solos with exciting Hammond solos.
The 10 songs on the album "Be Forgiving" captivate both musically and lyrically with their depth, authenticity, power, joy of playing and pure feeling. An absolute (secret) tip for everyone who likes handmade music with a lot of balls and goose bumps.

The four "Forgotten Sons" Gerry (Gerold Hinrichs), Kay Dee (Klaus Dörenkämper), Ringo (Peter Herzberg) and Woodpecker Cartwright (Michael Grunwald) from the district of Osnabrück are countering the forced Corona break 2020/2021 with the production of the first CD .

Home studio conditions were initially pre-produced as demos. Additionally, THE FORGOTTEN SONS OF BEN CARTWRIGHT have arranged and recorded two new songs penned by singer Gerry and his nephew Sebastian Hinrichs.
With a distribution option via the Osnabrück company TIMEZONE records and a booked recording studio in hand, the recording sessions finally went to Bad Iburg in the summer of 2021 to the »Mill of Friendship«. The four »Forgotten Sons« found an ideal partner for the realization of the project in sound engineer and studio owner Marcus Praed. At the end of the recording, the three guest musicians - fiddler Peter van den Bos (Music Road Pilots, NL), keyboarder Torsten Kappei (formerly Country Express Salzgitter) and guitarist Martin Lutze (formerly Southern Streamline) - enriched some of the songs their musical skills.
The disc is called Time To Fold The Cards (title song/own composition) and will be released on April 22nd, 2022. 15 song titles reflect the band's stylistic range and go far beyond simply covering country songs. This has been confirmed in preview reviews and critiques within the country music trade press and online portals. There are musical borrowings from Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Rosanne Cash and Kris Kristofferson, to name just the most well-known performers.

Lars Kutschke was lucky enough to study blues, gospel and soul at the source. As guitarist and musical director for singer Sharrie Williams, he has been touring the USA and around the world for years. For his album "While We're Here" he gathered musical friends and companions from the international music scene such as Tad Robinson, Kirk Fletcher, Alberto Marsico and Alex Schultz to record seven of his own compositions and interpret three of his favorite songs. Due to the many guests present on almost every track, the recording never becomes a “guitarist album”. The tonal palette ranges from lavishly instrumented soul tracks with brass sections and strings to the classic organ trio and earthy power trio.

On the second album "Traces Of The Past" Rio Nin not only shuts down the hustle and bustle of everyday life several gears, he also follows in the footsteps of the past. With these traces, all the happy feelings and memories you thought you had lost are back.
Everything started in the sleepy Nordhorn. cover songs? sing along? I can't. At 15 you have a lot to say to the world. So Rio Nin, aka Mario Brünink, taught himself a few moves, formed a band with a friend and stormed... no, not the charts... but anything that reminded one of a stage. You have to sweat for your first musical laurels. "We didn't want to be coffin savers," says Brünink. "No people dimming their lives." Music was protest. Against feet that have fallen asleep, narrow-minded thinking and sofa wasteland.
“I wanted something completely different. Breaking away with "Smoke on the water" and "Wish you were here" in the musical long-term memory. Something is happening there and he wants to be a part of it. The first compositions were recorded with a borrowed tape. Singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and the Eagles cheered him on.
"That has always remained: I want to move something with my music," says the guitarist.
And for that, every stylistic device was and is right for him. He mixes elements of folk, rock, jazz and classical music in a well-tempered manner and creates his own, unmistakable sound.

Cellar country icon and singer-songwriter Dad Horse Ottn used the corona-related lull in performance of the last two years to gather a whole ensemble of top-class fellow musicians around them. With this aircraft carrier line-up, he recorded the most valuable tracks from his back catalog for the album AT THE LIMBO under live conditions in Studio Hire in northern Germany.
For the courageous jump from the Dad Horse solo performance to the "cellar ensemble" he shake hands: Olaf "Sweetheart" Liebert (bass guitar), Michael "The Duke" Jungblut (electric guitar), Ayumi Valentina "Crown Jewel" Tovazzi (violin), Matze "Solo Instrumentalist of the Year 2017" Schinkopf (on a bewildering array of wind instruments), and Hanno "Handsome" Janssen (drums). First Solo Album - Solo stands for Solo Violin on an album where Powerful Voices tell Moving Stories in Beautiful Songs
She studied classically - violin. Then came the first folk band, it was obvious with the instrument. However, she has always been drawn to songwriters with incisive voices. With them she toured through the clubs and pubs of Meck-Pomm and Berlin and climbed theater stages, a highlight - the Scotland tour sponsored by the Goethe Institute. Later, the harder pace in rock bands changed Maike's violin style. Acoustic violin sounds were joined by distorters, octavers, tremolo and delay. She then took them to the big festival stages as support for Status Quo, Uriah Heep, Nik Kershaw or together with musicians like Mike Keneally and Scott Carter Thunes at the Zappanale in Bad Doberan. The encounter and interaction with "City" violinist Joro Gogow was also formative.
After Maike has been involved in numerous album productions by her fellow singers, she now presents her debut solo album "Something New" with a mix of her own songs and those of fellow bands and songwriters, stylistically very diverse in sound and genre. Maike's solo violin (or viola) is the common thread that runs through this album. The songs were created over a period of 2 years and were recorded with more than 30 musicians in different studios. 11 singers, including the Timezone colleagues Silvana Mehnert and Karl Neukauf, shine in English and German. Longing for love, online and other dependencies, political and social issues of our time are taken up and presented in a tangible, touching, lyrical, affectionate, sometimes sharp-tongued ironic manner - in complex arrangements in folk rock, rock pop, classical and finally electronic style .

The album title "Bachiana" is an allusion to the "Bachianas Brasileiras" by Heitor Villa-Lobos. There are also pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alessandro Marcello, Charles Gounod, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern and Leonard Cohen. As this list of composers already shows, the genre affiliations are pretty much irrelevant. Jazz musicians have always used either current hits or tracks they just liked.
Anything improvised about can be jazz. language of Johann Sebastian Bach will become the dominant element. Bach has influenced musicians across all genres. Not only is he one of my favorite composers, but he was also a great improviser. That, in turn, is known to be the essence of jazz.

With his new solo project, Nik Nova is reflecting on his musical roots and is now releasing his first solo album, "At The Crossroads". It contains ten songs whose singer/songwriter foundations transport influences from blues, rock, grunge and folk and address different emotional states, carried by Nik's changeable and absorbing vocals.
For the Cologne native, the album is an affair of the heart: "Loss and grief, the desire for a better society and time, longing, anger, fear and insecurity: There is hardly anyone who does not feel all of this at the moment. I hope my music can be a catalyst to confront these issues in a healthy way and ultimately take something positive out of it.”
The final overall result is an intense and personal album, which clearly shows that it comes from a gifted musician and songwriter who knows how to translate emotions into sounds and to create an individual musical character from a wide variety of influences. And it's a reminder that a time will come that is less hopeless and stagnant, especially in cultural and interpersonal terms, and when music can once again be a social event.

The fascination of the 13-course baroque lute includes the immense tonal range and richness of color that this portable instrument has. Johann Sebastian Bach's contemporary Sylvius Leopold Weiss is one of the composers who used this instrument in a particularly skilful and sensual way. Gabriele Janneck has selected some of her favorite works from Weiss' larger-than-life music and recorded them for her new solo album. It is entitled "Lute - Larger than Life". The B flat major and D minor sonatas from the Dresden manuscript and the E flat major sonata from the London manuscript can be heard, as can the tombeau for Count Logy and the G minor chaconne, which comes from a fragment of a duet , but is often played as a solo piece. The production was funded as part of the "Neustart Kultur" program - initiated by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, with the GVL (society for the exploitation of ancillary copyrights) as the sponsor.

The album "silverline" is Othmar Plöckinger's fourth studio album. Like the last album "illusions" (2020), "silverline" also follows a thematic line in terms of content, but musically it cannot be clearly assigned. It contains elements of different styles ranging from blues, pop and electro to classical and Wienerlied. The two double tracks “dark waters 1” and “dark waters 2” are examples of this. The stylistic variety is part of the concept of this album. The minimalist appearance of the CD is intended to emphasize the central importance of the music. The CD was again produced in the ôbaxé music studio in Salzburg with the participation of Salzburg musicians.
Oliver Uschmann wrote about the last CD "illusions":
“It's hard to find references for this record. This music […] eludes the simple “If you like this, you also like that…” logic. The bottom line is the feeling of having experienced something with the intellect, but also with the soul.”
